On The Ground In Wexford
The job is not the same across the county
Gorey is the busiest part of the county, and the newest
854 homes were completed around Gorey between 2023 and 2025, more than Wexford town itself. That end of the county is commuter belt now, and the stock reflects it: a lot of what we are called to in Gorey is not a rewire at all but capacity work on houses that are only a few years old. A board with no spare way, a car charger that needs its own circuit, a garden room somebody wired off the nearest socket. The cable is fine. What was never specified is what the household is now plugging into it.
Enniscorthy and New Ross are the other half of the story
652 completions around Enniscorthy and 276 around New Ross, against housing stock that is materially older than Gorey's. This is where the county's 1961 to 1990 band concentrates, and it is the band where the answer genuinely depends on which end of it your house sits in. Rewireable fuse carriers with wire in them, often no RCD anywhere, and lighting circuits that may or may not have an earth. Three checks settle it, and none of them need a quote first.
Rosslare and the coast: salt gets into everything
324 completions around Rosslare, and a coastal position that changes what lasts.
